NOTD

If you missed out -like I did :( - on the famous Chanel Jade this is a nice similar shade No. 85 by Revlon called 'Minted'. It does take 3 coats for full opaqueness. However, I love pastels for Summer and this will look rockin' with a bit of a tan :)

Glamour FOTD #2

I love being creative, it's so important to challenge myself artistically. I need to change my look everyday to continue to improve. I can not and will not get stuck in a rut and therefore look to magazines and makeup books for inspiration. One such book is by famous makeup artist Scott Barnes called 'About Faces'. And here is where today's look is derived from,

a modern take on a Barbarella style. Unfortunately, the photos don't capture the very heavy black winged eyeliner that I did - nevermind - c'est la vie!

'Why Hello Sailor'

Presenting....

Wheels and Doll baby is an internationally renowned Australian-based fashion label founded by Melanie Greensmith and partner. The clothes are hailed '... to snare a millionaire' and is the epitome of sexualised glamour. I am hugely influenced by 1940s/1950s pin-up girls and the clothes really befit my voluptous figure. These are my two favourite outfits, the latter of which I purchased yesterday. I can't wait to wear it.....

I have this one in black and white and call it my 'why hello Sailor' outfit (tee hee!)

This is my NEW Scone and Tea party outfit.

I just bought this as a two-piece outfit. The skirt is longer to below knee and much more slinky and clingy to my curves, but the corset - ohmygawd - it's gorgeous, it is a black bra type tulle outlining the sweetheart neckline with a cute little slim black bow in the middle.

http://www.wheelsanddollbaby.com/#/online-shop/new-arrivals/tea-party-corset-dress (this link goes to an almost exact copy of mine but please note, this is a one-piece)

It was quite expensive but it's perfect. The print is so pretty and you can wear it during day or evening or even to weddings :). I'll do an OOTD ASAP....

....and like the silly little gal that I am, I have painted my nails 'Minted' by Revlon in preparation to wear this outfit tomorrow. Now, onto the makeup....hmmmmm - a red lip vs. bronzed summer look? Not sure.....

Vogue

I love, live, breathe fashion and I am so excited - the new September issue of Vogue is due for release in Australia very soon. Until then, some pictures of inspirational works of art by the pure genius creative director, Grace Coddington (seen in the film, The September Issue). Aaaahhhh....

Trinket Treasures

Whilst perusing Diva the other day, I found some really cutesy trinkets that i just had to have. I like to change my style and I often get excessively bored of always looking conservative for my job so I *let loose* on my days off and have fun!

I went for a few items with an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party idea.

Gold heart and teacup necklace AUD 7.99

Charm chain with a vintage feel AUD 14.99

These banging ghetto silver hoops AUD 9.99

And of course :) in keeping with the flavour of the month....this made me laugh at only AUD 9.99!

Good things come in small packages indeed :P

The New and Improved *smooch*

Thought I would share the results of my final top up of what I now affectionately :)) call- 'Juve'. I am very pleased... the top lip looks completely different and much bigger without the need to be called Mrs Donald Duck. If I had injected even a tad more, than i think that would have been just too much...so it's perfect; large enough to be noticeable but not too large to be 'Quack'.

I was getting bored of my images in colour so i did a bit of black and white photography.

And although they may feel slightly different in size, there have been no lumps, bumps, redness or adverse reactions (inclusive of the male kind!). Giggle, giggle.

I was doin' a bit of jewellery haulin' at an Australian equivalent of Forever 21 (without the clothes) called 'Diva' and- as one does - found a treasure. You must pick up this beautiful opaque, one-coat only sophisticated taupey- grey nailpolish by Miss D called 'catch up for coffee'' for only AUD$6.99! BARGAIN

Posey Poser

I hate posing.

It's so ironic that I love makeup but often hate the superficiality of it all. It is difficult to explain.

But-

It makes me feels good inside and gives a spring in my step- so I simply can not stop doing it.

*sigh*

I hate posing.

...so to show you that deep down I am an average and normal girl, I had to post a picture of the real me (above) sans makeup. I can't stop giggling, it's such a horrible picture but I think albeit, necessary. To show you that - makeup can truly create miracles LOL :)

I honestly love nothing better than to TAKE MY SLAP OFF and lounge around in my juicy couture trackie pants with a very worn-out red Elmo (sesame street character) T-shirt, snuggled up with Tess (my teddy) watching a DVD. Since, I have ADHD (not really; just an inability to keep still), this is My time; MY glorious 'time' to preen. Either to do my tootsie or finger nail polish with perhaps a scrub mask on. I am actually doing this right now.......tee hee hee.

As Charlotte (from Sex and The City) would say, this is 'my SSB' - secret single behaviour. Well, actually not so secret now....eeek.

Enjoy your night.....tomorrow there may be a video on the horizon :)

Love Fiffi x

My Cute Little Finds

Sales.

Conjures images of line upon lines of stuffed rails hanging- sometimes dirtied, sometimes faulty - old stock mixed with a few of new collection's leftovers.

However, if one is prepared to scour - albeit dedicatedly-.... one can always find little treasures in the midst of the usual dross.

Here is such a cute little black cardigan with beautiful delicate detailing at the back. The find was a bargain at AUD39.95 at a little boutique in Glenelg.

In the same shop, I found the sweetest little skirt. It has cute ruffle details around the waist and will look so cute with this gold-buckled brown belt I picked up.

Next, as a wanton glamour goddess, I picked up this sexy little number.....at AUD 160, it's unique and flattering on my curvaceous figure - and yet again, in black and white - my two favourite colours ;P

Leaving the best for last.....Here lookey what I found, cluttered with all the other lonely shoes in Myer's shoe department....these li'l beauties at a BARGAIN (by Siren shoes) reduced from AUD169.95 to, wait for it......

....AUD59.95

And yes.

I did feel the need to pose.

Ahhhh so cute. I love the concept of 'hard yet soft', I see these pretties on my tootsies with maybe a cute little floral summer dress for a bit of a stylish and modern take- a sort of 'fashion oxymoron' :)

Oh - bring on the sunshine, I say.

Ta-Da!

So, the 'juvederm+lidocaine' lip injection experience wasn't too bad. I was sequentially ice packed in the area that was about to be injected and felt a bit of a sting. But otherwise no real pain, and when it stung a little too much I would softly sing to distract me. Unfortunately, when she did the cushion (that's the top lip, middle part just underneath cupid's bow), I got a bit of a bruise. It's still there 5 days on but has sufficiently faded to now be easily covered with a bit of pink lippie. Other than that I had no itching, surrounding lip redness/bruising, lumps etc. and I am very pleased with the result.

So here are some pics....

before

Straight after injection

5 days post-injection

But......and there is always a but. It's very subtle (I only used 0.3ml of 0.8ml syringe) and I am glad about that, but i think the top lip needs just a teensy-weensy more. So my top-up is booked for this coming Thursday.

Aaahhhhhh....what us women have to go through to achieve beauty. Oh well, fingers crossed. i'll update as soon as I can.

KK is my muse...

Kim Kardashian is so beautiful and I am just loving this dress...so feminine yet sexy. She says dark purple is a replacement for black in Fall/Winter. In Australia, it is now spring, but I reckon this dress can be worn any time of the year. I need to get me one of those.....*sigh*.

Let the search begin....

Products I am loving right now....

Favourites for the month of August 2010

BeneFit Hoola Bronzer - the perfect shade to contour and add that hint of 'health'. Dior Amber Diamond - great highlighter for the cheeks. Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara - a huge brush BUT you can really build without clumps or flaking! YSL Rouge Pur No. 148 Tea rose - a warm pinky-nude lipstick made especially lovely when teamed with Clinique Superbalm Moisturising lipbalm in Ginger. Finally, where would I be without my John Frieda volumising mousse for my horribly limp fine hair.

Just though I would share....

Badgal is just plain nasty!

Welcome ladies and gentleman, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce.....

....the world's worst mascara (well maybe not the worst, but terrible enough to use once and slam-dunk straight into the closest bin). Allow me to count the ways,

1. Expensive at AUD38 which is ridiculous when it performs worse than the average DS mascara at AUD20 or less!

2. Big-A$$ un-usable brush

3. There is always a huge lump of mascara formula at the brush tip

4. And because of reasons 2 and 3, it goes everywhere.... except where it is supposed to i.e my eyelashes

5. There is minimal volumising of lashes
6. It does not hold curl (admittedly this is non-waterproof) and despite repeated efforts to build and build....it. simply. will. not. do. it.

I give up. Hopefully I have given you 6 reasons not to waste your money......
