MAC Venomous Villains Review Part I

Once upon a time in a Far Far Away Land... lived Princess Fiona who remembers her trips to Disneyland when she was a little girl and loved to dress up in her prettiest pink frock whilst dreaming of marrying her prince. Twenty years on....Fiffi married her gorgeous hubby Shrek in a beautiful castle (uh-hum *clears throat* i actually did do this tee hee) and still loves to dress up in pink and buy lots and lots of make up.

What an anticipated collection - Venomous Villains - they are ALWAYS the COOLEST characters. Dare I mention The Joker (Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger) and Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) in the Batman films. Honestly, I haven't been this excited since the MAC 226 brush was released from the MAC Colourcraft collection and I seriously HAULED. I am not going to bother telling y'all the nitty-gritty except to say there were four sub-collections within the Venomous Villains collection: 1. Evil Queen (accounts for most of my purchases) 2. Maleficent 3. Cruella De Vil 4. Dr Facillier (there are so many other websites who have more details - like Temptalia), so why repeat, repeat, repeat (get it?!?) etc?

But what may be useful, is to let you know what I bought and recommend....so here it goes.

Lipsticks

MAC LE Innocence Beware (Cruella de Vil): Sheer pigmentation warm more pink than apricot colour

L to R : MAC Creme D'Nude, MAC Myth, MAC LE Innocence Beware, YSL RV No. 2, YSL Tea Rose No 148, YSL RV No.1

MAC LE Innocence Beware is between Myth and Creme D'Nude, the former being that tad bit more coral-ly, and the latter lighter and sheerer. So you don't need to HAVE this but if you are a pinky nude hoor (like myself)....then why not add an extra limited edition one to your already ridiculous MU hoard...

MAC LE Toxic Tale (Evil Queen): Seriously bright opaque more orange than red coral lipstick

L to R: MAC LE Toxic Tale, MAC Lady Danger

Not a great photo, but Toxic Tale is more orange than the photo above betrays and not as red as Lady danger.

I also purchased MAC LE (Evil Queen) Strange Potion. It is a beautiful slightly opaque pinky coral lipgloss and i love it so much (i have nothing in my makeup collection at home that even comes close to a dupe) so I bought a backup :)

What can I say....wrt to the rest of the lipsticks, I just knew I was not going to wear those colours and I personally, dislike any purple undertones in a lippie for fear that my teeth may look yellow. So, I skipped the other lippies.

Next, is the MAC LE Oh So Fair (Evil Queen) beauty powder. It is a great almost translucent pinky powder that gives a lovely fresh glow. I did not bother swatching it as it would most certainly not show on camera.

Before moving onto part deux, I thought I would just end this post by discussing the packaging. I hate it... fullstop, endof. It's outer covering is shiny black with silly 'almost sticker-like' pictures equating to -IMO - cheap and tacky. They could have done so much more. For example, when opening the beauty powder, one could see a clear outlined picture on the compact mirror of the 'mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all' character. Even the character sketches on the cardboard MU packages could have been a fun 'twist' on the toddler pictures that were produced instead. Well, that is all I have to say about that...Anyhoo, onto part II.

'Why Hello Sailor'

Presenting....

Wheels and Doll baby is an internationally renowned Australian-based fashion label founded by Melanie Greensmith and partner. The clothes are hailed '... to snare a millionaire' and is the epitome of sexualised glamour. I am hugely influenced by 1940s/1950s pin-up girls and the clothes really befit my voluptous figure. These are my two favourite outfits, the latter of which I purchased yesterday. I can't wait to wear it.....

I have this one in black and white and call it my 'why hello Sailor' outfit (tee hee!)

This is my NEW Scone and Tea party outfit.

I just bought this as a two-piece outfit. The skirt is longer to below knee and much more slinky and clingy to my curves, but the corset - ohmygawd - it's gorgeous, it is a black bra type tulle outlining the sweetheart neckline with a cute little slim black bow in the middle.

http://www.wheelsanddollbaby.com/#/online-shop/new-arrivals/tea-party-corset-dress (this link goes to an almost exact copy of mine but please note, this is a one-piece)

It was quite expensive but it's perfect. The print is so pretty and you can wear it during day or evening or even to weddings :). I'll do an OOTD ASAP....

....and like the silly little gal that I am, I have painted my nails 'Minted' by Revlon in preparation to wear this outfit tomorrow. Now, onto the makeup....hmmmmm - a red lip vs. bronzed summer look? Not sure.....

Trinket Treasures

Whilst perusing Diva the other day, I found some really cutesy trinkets that i just had to have. I like to change my style and I often get excessively bored of always looking conservative for my job so I *let loose* on my days off and have fun!

I went for a few items with an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party idea.

Gold heart and teacup necklace AUD 7.99

Charm chain with a vintage feel AUD 14.99

These banging ghetto silver hoops AUD 9.99

And of course :) in keeping with the flavour of the month....this made me laugh at only AUD 9.99!

Good things come in small packages indeed :P

My Cute Little Finds

Sales.

Conjures images of line upon lines of stuffed rails hanging- sometimes dirtied, sometimes faulty - old stock mixed with a few of new collection's leftovers.

However, if one is prepared to scour - albeit dedicatedly-.... one can always find little treasures in the midst of the usual dross.

Here is such a cute little black cardigan with beautiful delicate detailing at the back. The find was a bargain at AUD39.95 at a little boutique in Glenelg.

In the same shop, I found the sweetest little skirt. It has cute ruffle details around the waist and will look so cute with this gold-buckled brown belt I picked up.

Next, as a wanton glamour goddess, I picked up this sexy little number.....at AUD 160, it's unique and flattering on my curvaceous figure - and yet again, in black and white - my two favourite colours ;P

Leaving the best for last.....Here lookey what I found, cluttered with all the other lonely shoes in Myer's shoe department....these li'l beauties at a BARGAIN (by Siren shoes) reduced from AUD169.95 to, wait for it......

....AUD59.95

And yes.

I did feel the need to pose.

Ahhhh so cute. I love the concept of 'hard yet soft', I see these pretties on my tootsies with maybe a cute little floral summer dress for a bit of a stylish and modern take- a sort of 'fashion oxymoron' :)

Oh - bring on the sunshine, I say.
