Another HG Find!

The famous Lancome Bi-facil - is THE best, most readily-accessible makeup remover on the market. It is described as follows,

'Double-phase, fresh-as-water liquid eye makeup remover. Activates when shaken to gently whisk away even waterproof eye makeup, while conditioning and refreshing the skin. Ideal for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers. Leaves eyes feeling cool and relaxed'.

And it does just that.

Makeup simply melts off. No rubbing-:) reducing harm and wrinkle formation to the delicate skin around the eye area. I love it and will continue to buy it till the end of my day.

Chanel NPs

I love LE Chanel Nailpolishes, I only have four....but plan to get my grubby little mitts on more. Here is what I have so far,

LEFT TO RIGHT: Diabolic, Forbidden, Particuliere, Nouvelle Vague

Next on the hit list: Chanel Paradoxal. What's your favourite Chanel nailpolish?

No. 539

I do not know how to put into words how much I wanted this. But of course, it's No 539- THE Dior LE Iridescent Leather eyeshadow quint that is so famous in the US, yet more difficult to find then the legendary Arc of the Covenant and more sought-after than Harry Potter's Philosopher's Stone. And yet.....I, INDIANA-CHICK Fi,... found it. In the Dior Cave of Langham Place Mall HK. And here, thou shall look upon my treasure find.....

Ahhhhhhh. Isn't it BE-UUUU-TTTIII-FFFUUULLL!!

Makeupalley

Have I ever mentioned makeupalley- no! whaaaaaa.....

Makeupalley (MUA) is a website dedicated to the makeup obsessed among us i.e. A La Moi. It works on the basis of trust. You search for items you 'lem' or MUA speak for 'wish' and try to swap them for stuff that simply do not work on you. The swaps can be generous and totally worth the price of postage - especially since you dished out dough for a product you will never use again.

So, here is my most recent swap from a lovely US gal - the NYX and NYC stuff were freebies as was the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara I have always wanted (but discontinued in Australia).

My Fav is the MAC LE Smokey eyes Fascinating Ruby palette from MAC Red She Said Holiday collection. Another collector's item hee hee.

Others: UD Deluxe eyeshadows, NYC creme colour, NXY Thalia lipstick, NYX Sweetheart
lipgloss and L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara (not pictured).

Check MUA out - but beware, there are those less moral out there who will promise a swap and never deliver, i.e. akin to thievery. I like Miss Natty's MUA swapping rules...check out her website for more details, http://nattyngeorge.blogspot.com/

Product Hate: NARS LE Pleasures of Paris Palette

I hate saying: I love this, i luuuurve that, you have to have this, blah blah blah.

I am going to rebel.

I think its useful to tell people about your HG (holy grail) products but i thought I would share not only the good but also the bad, and the *very* ugly - affectionately now name-headed HS (holy sh*t) products.

NARS. Oh NARS.

Dear Francoise,

You make really great blushes - glitter bombs- but nice all the same. Yes, sex and trash sells, doesn't it? why not have a bit of 'torrid' in your 'Copacabana' - with 'sin' 'multiple orgasm' and 'deep throat'. Nice, real nice. But i guess it works, so who am I to slate it?

Anyway, famed bloggers go on and on and on *yawn* about the 'famous' NARS LE Pleasures of Paris Palette and in my opinion, just mine...it's BORING. ALL the colours are completely and utterly dupeable. I believe the only colour i actually liked was called 'Fez' - bottom left hand colour - but it is an exact copy of MAC's Bronze. And its not like the consistency was better- they are both very similar. Totally NOT WORTH the >100 AUD i spent on this stupid little thing. I mean what am I going to do with the pale purple shadow? It just looked dirty, 80's and cakey on my NC20 skin.

Yours Sincerely,

One unhappy customer
Dr F

It's up, yep.....

up for swap on makeupalley....maybe somebody will give it some love, because I have none for it.

My Guilty Purchase

Designer handbags are my guilty pleasure. What can I say in my defense, ummmm- it was tax free???

My husband bought me the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 with above gold charm- i didn't have to twist his arm. He loves me *shrugs my shoulders*. He's the best ever and I am a very very lucky gal :)

I HAULED IN HK!

OKAY - so you must know I went on holiday by now. Yes, we took a bit of a detour via Hong Kong. What can I say - but, that I absolutely love this place. The shopping is - AMAH-ZINGGGG! The make-up is INSANE. So much choice, i think i started hyperventilating at SASA - it was makeup heaven...and tax-free and so cheap. And YES- that Dior with reflected light is the ELUSIVE LIMITED EDITION DIOR QUINT that i have been fantasizing about.

I can't wait to review everything and share my thoughts on the products with y'all!

In no particular order,

1. MUFE HD Foundation
2. MUFE HD Blush No.4
3. 3x sets of five falsies (really cheap at AUD 13.5 per set of five)
4. MUFE Aqua Eyes eyeliners (GWP)
5. MUFE Aqua Eyes in black
6. MUFE Aqua Creams in 15 and 9
7. Dior Amber Diamond
8. Dior Iridescent Leather quint Eyeshadow
9. Heroine Kiss Kiss mascara (Approx. AUD 13)
10. Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous (Approx. AUD 15)
11. Shu Uemura ME 850
12. Majolica Majorca SV 821

Enjoy the makeup porn -as we say on Makeupalley :)

Nelson Rocks!

Whilst on my relaxing holidays...I started reading about one of my idols. I really love reading autobiographies and learning from other's experiences and life teachings. I have to recommend this book - 'Mandela's Way' by Richard Stengel. It was a pure joyous read and whittled the many hours spent getting to our destination Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt from Australia!

Another favourite quote from this inspirational man,

"Courage is not the absence of fear, it is learning to overcome it"

-Nelson Mandela

Seahorse Beauty!

Long time no see - as they say.

I have been on holiday - it was great but exhausting and a story in itself, but i won't bore you. Let's get down to the nitty gritty.

MAC To The Beach collection - Yawn.

I spend so much on makeup and have a makeup vanity consisting of most of my lemmings now that its kindda hard to find products that are 'un-dupeable'. Anyway, I don't buy into hype and I am a makeup collector afterall (like some people collect dolls, or Swarovski swans etc.) I love hard-to-find stuff, so I had to get the seahorse highlighter. Partly, because I am also FANATICAL about scuba diving and saw a very rare baby seahorse in Samoa which was so very cute.

So yes, I bought it, and yes I don't use it, because I just like to- well,- look at it really :)

Next, I bought the ever sought-after Hipness Blush. I was told it would be a pinkier version of LE Instant Chic (pret a papier or whatever MAC collection) so i had to get it. I love pink - that is all. Anyway pink, PINK??? you've got to be lying it definitely is more on the coral-ly side compared to IC.

Anyway, instant chic was - MEH, and this is just, well - MEH. Completely and utterly dupeable - i can't see much of a difference between either of them really. And both are matte versions of NARS deep throat which i love but is S.P.A.R.K.L.Y.

1. MAC Pink Swoon Blush
2. MAC LE Instant Chic Blush
3. MAC LE Hipness Blush
4. NARS Deep Throat Blush

In conclusion, if you want a matte version of NARS DT - get either IC or Hipness but don't get both. I prefer DT in all cases.

Anyways, that's my two cents.....

More posts soon x
